Jon Urbana: Modern Day Renaissance Man

February 11, 2016 in Variety Show

Jon Urbana is the definition of a modern Renaissance man, with interests and skills ranging from lacrosse to airplane flying, and charity work to business development.

Though born and raised in Denver, Jon Urbana played for Villanova’s lacrosse team from 2002 to 2004 in the Philadelphia region. It was here that he received the awards of honorable mention for All-American athlete and the Defensive Player of the Year for his team’s league at the conclusion of his career there. As a defensive player, he helped lead the Villanova team to a seventh place defensive national ranking in his senior year.

With his background in collegiate lacrosse, Jon became a co-founder of the Next Level Lacrosse Camp for children and teens in the Colorado area in 2011. With this business experience under his belt, Jon Urbana later took on the role of Head of Business Development for Ellipse USA, a company specializing in laser and IPL technology.

While honing his business skills, Jon Urbana also managed to be accepted into the FAA Airmen Certification Database by the Federal Aviation Administration in 2011, as reported by The Aviation Business Gazette. By being added to this list, Jon has successfully completed the standards set by the FAA in educational level, licensing necessities and medical requirements.

Besides his skills in sports, flying and business, Jon has dedicated himself to a few different charity causes through sites like Crowdrise and GoFundMe. His charity funds on Crowdrise are going to the Animal Rescue and Adoption Society of Denver, a no-kill cat shelter that takes in homeless cats.

Earth Force is another charity he is raising funds for. This charity focuses on the environment, specifically getting children and teens to pitch in to help better the environment in their communities.
